Inside the Shell - Aero Is Free Speed If Sustainable
https://youtu.be/qEPlcAJFKrk?si=xJ7BNpNnCNmb3hgi
Inside the Shell presents Aero Is Free Speed If Sustainable 🐌🔥
Aero can save you serious time, but only if you can hold it comfortably and still fuel. If aero hurts, feels unstable, or forces you to sit up constantly, the “free speed” disappears fast. Triathlon is swim, bike, run, and recovery stacked together, so sustainable aero protects the run and keeps pacing smooth, not just the bike split.
This week’s practice: during a steady ride, do 3 x 10 min in aero with smooth breathing and one sip every 5 minutes.
Speed Optional. Sustainability Mandatory.

Inside the Shell presents Building Bike Durability for Long Course 🐌🔥
Bike durability is not about being a hero, it is about staying steady when the ride gets long 🐌🚴 Coach Rachel, a.k.a. TriCupcake, breaks down Building Bike Durability for Long Course and how the same skill supports Spartan and OCR cross training too. Learn how to hold position, cadence, output, and fueling deep into the ride with three simple cues: steady is a skill, fuel before the fade, and build time in position gradually. Plus a practical long ride focus you can use this week so the run after does not feel like an ambush.
Speed Optional. Durability Mandatory.
Inside the Shell - Cadence Control in Different Terrain

Inside the Shell presents Cadence Control in Different Terrain 🐌🔥
Cadence control is one of the easiest ways to manage fatigue on flats, climbs, and in the wind without cooking your legs. Different cadences shift muscle load, smooth pacing, and can help protect your knees.
On flats, aim for a steady cadence you can repeat. On climbs, let cadence drop a bit but stay controlled and try to stay seated to keep traction and effort smooth. In wind, shift early so you are not grinding.
Speed Optional. Cadence Control Mandatory.

Inside the Shell presents Indoor Riding vs Outdoor Riding and why both matter 🐌🔥
Indoor and outdoor rides are not enemies, they are different tools 🐌🚴 In this Inside the Shell episode we break down Indoor Riding vs Outdoor Riding and why both matter. Indoor sessions are best for controlled intervals, steady pacing, and hitting targets, while outdoor rides build handling, shifting, terrain skills, and real world fueling practice. Learn how to choose the right environment for the goal of the workout, avoid common mistakes, and pick one ride this week that belongs indoors and one that belongs outdoors.
Speed Optional. Bike Control Mandatory.

Inside the Shell presents Seated vs Standing Hill Climbs 🐌🔥
Both seated and standing climbing have their place. This episode explains when each one makes sense, how they change effort and muscle demand, and why flailing out of the saddle is not automatically a sign of bravery. Watch, learn, and bring the skill into your training this week.
Speed Optional. Fitness Mandatory.
