Ironman Ottawa 2026

August 2, 2026

Robert and Rachel

Previous

Ironman Ottawa 2026 delivered another unforgettable day for Coaches Robert and Rachel.

After a difficult race last year, this one was about redemption. We put in the work, arrived ready and, when race day came, we showed up and delivered.

The swim was wetsuit optional, so naturally we chose to complete the 3.8 kilometer course without one. The 180 kilometer bike was long, because no matter how many Ironmans you complete, 180 kilometers remains a deeply unreasonable distance to ride before starting a marathon.

Then came the run. Torrential rain swept across the course and nearly turned the 42.2 kilometer marathon into an unexpected second swim. It immediately brought back memories of the very wet Ironman Maryland 2024, although this time we were already committed, soaked and moving forward.

Coach Robert crossed the finish line in 11:41:52, his fastest Ironman performance in several years. Coach Rachel delivered an incredible race, finishing in 12:18:50 and setting a massive new personal best by well over an hour.

Another Ironman was officially in the books. More importantly, the redemption we came looking for was earned. We returned home tired, proud, recovering and eating everything that was not securely fastened down.

Speed Optional. Redemption Delivered.
