Strength-Ready: Triathlete Strength w/ Email Coaching
This plan is designed to build strength first, while steadily developing the endurance needed for triathlon training. The program progresses gradually to help athletes improve performance across swim, bike, and run without sacrificing recovery or consistency.
Strength training begins with two full-body sessions per week focused on movement quality, foundational strength, and overall durability. As training progresses, the program advances into three weekly sessions (upper body, lower body, and full body) allowing for increased training volume, greater strength development, and improved sport-specific support for triathlon performance.
Swimming volume progresses from shorter 800m sessions focused on technique, efficiency, and aerobic development, gradually building toward continuous and structured swims up to 2,000m. The goal is to improve both confidence and endurance in the water while maintaining strong mechanics under fatigue.
Cycling starts with easy aerobic rides around 45 minutes to establish a strong endurance base and promote recovery between sessions. Over time, rides become more structured, incorporating intervals, cadence work, and sustained efforts ranging from 45–60 minutes to improve power output, pacing, and overall bike fitness.
Running begins with manageable 4 km efforts to develop consistency and durability while reducing injury risk. Distances and workload progressively increase toward 10 km runs, helping athletes build aerobic endurance, running economy, and confidence over longer efforts.
Overall, this program is built around progressive overload, balanced recovery, and long-term development while creating stronger, more resilient athletes who can improve both strength and triathlon performance simultaneously.
